Storage & retention
Your photos are your business. This page is every rule about how long we keep them, in plain words, so nothing about it is ever a surprise. It applies to every account, including Free.
The one rule that matters most
While you are on any plan — including Free — nothing is ever deleted unless you ask us to delete it. When you reach your plan's storage limit, uploads pause until you make room or move up a tier. Reaching a limit never removes a photo; it only stops new ones until there is space.
There are exactly two ways photos ever leave: a paid plan lapses and the clock below runs out, or you close your studio on purpose. They work very differently, and both are written out below.
What each plan holds
- Free — 1 GB of photos, free — a limited-time offer, yours to keep once you have it — every feature included.
- Starter — 25 GB of photos ($10/month).
- Studio — 100 GB of photos ($28/month).
- Archive — 1 TB of photos ($49/month).
Storage is the only difference between plans — every feature is on every plan.
If a paid plan lapses
If a subscription ends — cancelled, or a card that stopped working — your account drops to Free. You are never locked out, and here is exactly what happens to photos above the Free limit:
- Your galleries stay online for 60 days exactly as they were, so a client mid-delivery is never cut off.
- Your original files are kept for 90 days from the day the plan lapsed. Resubscribe any time in that window and everything is exactly where you left it.
- You will hear from us three times before anything is removed — with working download links each time, so you can take everything with you even if you never come back.
If you ask us to close your studio
This is the other ending, and it is nothing like the one above. A lapsed plan is a clock; asking to close is a decision, and we act on it the moment you confirm it rather than making you wait out a window you did not ask for.
- It happens immediately. There is no 30-day hold and no 60-day wait. The second you confirm, every gallery goes offline, your website and booking pages stop loading, your portal links stop working, and nobody — including you — can sign in to that studio again.
- Your clients are not left with a broken link. Anyone opening a gallery sees the same “Gallery expired” screen they would see if you had set a closing date, with your studio’s name on it.
- Your photographs are deleted from here in the same second, and every original file is queued for removal from storage. We email you one final download link straight away, and it keeps working until those files are erased — that link is your last copy, so use it.
- Nothing can be withdrawn afterwards. Up until you confirm, one press takes the request back and nothing at all has happened. After it, there is nothing to take back.
- Money already paid to you is untouched. Client payments are charges on your own Stripe account and stay exactly where they are.
We keep your invoices, quotes, contracts and payment records — your own accounting history — rather than destroying them along with everything else. If you want those gone too, email us and we will do it by hand.
Idle free accounts
A Free account that has not been signed into for 12 months gets the same three notices before its photos are archived. Signing in once resets the clock — an account you use is never idle.
Getting everything out
Your originals are yours on every plan, every day: every gallery can be downloaded at full resolution from the dashboard, before, during, or after any of the windows above. Leaving with all of your work is always one of the options, and it never needs our permission.
